Ai O. brings more than a decade of international school experience across Tokyo and Beijing, grounded in both lived and professional perspective. A graduate of the International School of the Sacred Heart in Tokyo and later a faculty member within leading international schools, she understands these communities from the inside. Her specialization centers on middle and high school years, with particular insight into IB and AP pathways, academic rigor, and how subject selection and positioning shape long-term university options.
Ai taught middle school science and high school chemistry including IB and AP Chemistry during her time at the International School of the Sacred Heart, Aoba-Japan International School, and Tsinghua International School in Beijing. Having worked with students ranging from Grade 5 to Grade 12 in both instructional and advisory roles, she understands the importance of finding a school whose culture and programs are a good fit for the child so that they are empowered to thrive and grow.
Before transitioning fully into education, Ai worked at Bloomberg L.P. in Tokyo, advising and training professionals across East Asia. Ai holds a B.A. in Chemistry from Princeton University and a Master of Arts in Secondary Science Education from Columbia University, Teachers College. She hopes that she can help Basso & Basso families feel supported as they explore school options to find the best fit for their child.
